Favorites & Watchlist: One Page, Four Kinds of Saved Things
Where the listings, batches, intents and sellers you are keeping an eye on live — and what the platform tells you when they move.
A trader’s day produces a trail of “come back to this”: a listing that is priced ten percent too high, a batch that would be perfect if the quantity were right, an intent from a buyer whose demand might match next month’s inbound, a seller whose stock is consistently clean. Market keeps that trail on one page, /market/favorites, titled Favorites & watchlist, and treats it as yours alone.
One page, four types
The page holds saved listings, batches, intents and sellers. You can search it, filter by type, show only items with unread alerts, open an item, toggle its alerts, mark alerts as read, and remove the item. Removing only deletes your saved record; the listing itself does not notice. Buyers are not something you can favorite — sellers and their intents are, which is the direction in which demand information is actually useful.
Watching a listing
Watching starts on the buyer page of a listing, /market/browse/[id], with the Watch button. Your own listings do not offer one, for the obvious reason. The watch persists and the listing shows up on the favorites page. On the seller’s side, the listing row carries a watch count — a neutral “N interested” signal, never “Company X favorited you” — and the dashboard’s Watchlisted widget sums it across your listings. Demand you can see is demand you can price against.
Alert types
A saved item can raise five kinds of alert: a price drop, a new offer, an item that is expiring, a status change, and a new match. Alerts are toggled per saved item, so the batch you are merely curious about can stay quiet while the listing you actually want to buy speaks up. Unread alerts stay on the page until you handle them or mark them read; the “alerts only” filter is the morning routine.
The Auction watchlist is a different list
Lots you follow at Auction live on /auction/watchlist with their own bid and ending-reminder toggles; the auction-watchlist article covers that one. A Market listing and an auction lot are different promises with different clocks, so they are watched from different pages.
Notification preferences
Alerts respect your notification preferences. In-app only, or rolled into the morning digest that a scheduled job sends once a day, or every change as it happens — the preferences page is per user and per event type, and the favorites page shows the same alerts regardless of how loudly they were delivered.
