Photos Library: A Tenant-Wide Album
How /general/photos surfaces every photo across the warehouse, and how one upload serves both the bench and the buyer.
The per-asset photos tab is great when you know which asset you’re looking at. The library at /general/photos is for the case when you don’t — when you’re trying to find that one photo of the cracked screen from a Dell that came in last week and you don’t remember the asset ID.
Filters
Search by text, then narrow by uploader or by tag. Search and filters run over the whole library before the page is chosen, with the matching total and the page count in view, so a warehouse that shoots two thousand photos a month still finds Tuesday’s. Thumbnails are generated at upload, which keeps the grid fast even on a phone connection.
One photo, one record
A photo links to exactly one record: the asset it depicts, the receiving session, the outbound order or the pallet. The library shows that link, so clicking through goes straight to the record that owns it. The one deliberate exception is commercial: a photo on an asset is also linked to that asset’s sellable item, so a Market listing or auction lot gallery is fed from the bench without a second upload.
The seller’s gallery, the buyer’s view
On a listing or lot page the seller sees the photos of the devices in it and marks one as the cover; the cover leads the gallery and is the thumbnail on the browse overviews. Without a choice, the oldest photo of the first device takes the spot. Buyers see the images and their sequence number in a lightbox, never the internal captions. Captions are for the bench.
Straight from testing
Notes and photos taken on the testing detail are saved to the asset itself, not to the test session, so they are in this library the moment the tester puts the phone down, and still there after the asset has been graded, listed and sold.
Deleting a photo
Deleting a photo — here, on an asset grid, or from the mobile capture screen — first loads a server-side preview of what the photo is linked to and whether anything blocks the deletion. Evidence of a defect that a buyer disputes in six weeks should survive a tidy-up on a Friday afternoon.
