Document Templates: What Changes in Your Output

Under /settings/core/templates, your team manages definitions for eleven document types. Each type can have one active definition. You can copy a definition, edit a draft and archive an old version.

What the settings change

The five outbound documents — bill of lading, packing slip, pick list, loading report and recycling certificate — show the active definition’s name and version. Their layouts remain fixed. Ordinary evidence summaries also record the name and version.

The summary and return proof in a final service dossier also use the selected paper size and orientation. The invoice and original evidence files inside that dossier retain their own layouts. Editing a definition does not rewrite an already generated dossier.

Settlement reports, invoices, photo reports and collection confirmations do not yet use these template settings. A standalone data destruction certificate has no dedicated output route yet. Recording a definition does not make that document available.

Fields and examples

Merge-field labels, examples and required flags describe intended fields; they do not change or validate the generated content. Device evidence, amounts and footprint results come from their recorded sources.

Open example document opens a recent existing document or its record. It does not render the selected draft. Check the document’s actual output before sending it.

Company identity and history

The issuer on outbound documents comes from your ITAD organization profile, not from the template name. Missing address or VAT details are not replaced with invented ReVend details. ReVend remains the product label.

Saved dossiers retain their recorded version and files. A print page opened later uses the current active definition. Keep the issued file when you need to preserve the exact earlier output.
